Boracay Island
Boracay is an island of the Philippines located approximately 315km (200 miles) south of Manila and 2km off the northwest tip of the island of Panay in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.
It is anisland roughly 5 miles long and is less han a mile wide at it's most narrow point. In 1990, it was voted by the BMW Tropical Beach Handbook as one of the best beaches in the world.
In 1996, the British publication TV Quick voted Boracay the world's number one tropical beach. In 2007, Boracay island topped the list of the World’s Most Popular Beaches.
There is a resident population of approximately 5500 in Boracay.
Activities
From glass-bottomed boats and scuba diving to renting a ATV or motor bike to walking around the island or sampling the fabulously cheap restaurants. Always something to do.
